Why is guarana a hidden source of caffeine?
Guarana seeds contain caffeine and caffeine-like chemicals, so any product with guarana adds to your daily total (MSKCC, Guarana).
The Payarmin label lists guarana seed extract third in the blend and green tea leaf extract seventh. Both are caffeine sources. No caffeine amount is printed.
The MSKCC page we read gives no caffeine figure for guarana either (MSKCC, Guarana). We will not invent one. By label order, guarana holds at most 67 mg of blend per 1 mL serving, and that is the whole extract, not caffeine alone.

What are the side effects of guarana?
The common ones are nausea and insomnia (MSKCC, Guarana).
MSKCC adds that high doses can cause vomiting, heartbeat changes, high blood pressure and seizures. Long-term effects are not known, and combining it with other stimulants may not be safe (MSKCC, Guarana).
Evidence for the uses people claim is limited. One meta-analysis found guarana no better than placebo for cancer-related fatigue (MSKCC, Guarana).

Does guarana have more caffeine than coffee?

Can I take Payarmin and drink coffee?
